Weather in South West EnglandWeather in South West England Weather in South West England
The South West enjoys a milder climate all year round than anywhere else in the UK. Summers are pleasantly warm and we very rarely see snow during winter except on the high moorland of Dartmoor and Exmoor. For this reason, palm trees and other tropical plants flourish, especially in the southern coastal areas.
Spring comes early to the South West - daffodils bloom on the Isles of Scilly during the winter. Elsewhere in the region blossom is out as early as March, and the rhodedendrons are in full bloom in May.

The South West often enjoys an "Indian summer" - a long, warm, and sunny Autumn through September and October.

The following charts show rainfall, hours of sunshine, and temperature throughout the year.
