Seven Days |
Day 1
Marvel at the oldest, rarest and largest trees in the UK at Westonbirt Arboretum, stunning any time of year.
Rummage through antique stores in Tetbury and learn about the market town's 17th century yarn, wool and weaving trades.
Sample some delicious local food and real ale at a country pub and afternoon tea at the Hare And Hounds near Tetbury.
Day 2
Indulge in some retail therapy amongst the regency architecture of Cheltenham Spa.
Discover Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum's collection of painting, sculpture, fine furniture and exquisite metalwork made by Cotswold craftsmen.
Dine at one of the town's top restaurants and enjoy the lively bars and clubs.
Day 3
Spend the morning invading the imposing Berkeley Castle, probably best known for the brutal murder of King Edward II in 1327, the castle has magnificent grounds.
In the town of Berkeley, visit the Edward Jenner Museum, then move onto the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Centre at Slimbridge for the afternoon.
Day 4
Take a guided tour of Gloucester Cathedral, one of the finest in the country (and recently used in the filming of Harry Potter as part of Hogwarts school!)
Spend a few hours at Gloucester Quays; with its shopping centre, cinema, restaurants and museum, there is plenty to keep you entertained.
Day 5
Head for the Cotswolds Hills and wander through the pretty streets and honey coloured cottages of Painswick village.
Stop by at the market town of Cirencester and browse the produce at a local farmers market, don't forget to sample some Double Gloucester Cheese!
Hire bikes from Go-By-Cycle and see the Cotswolds on 2 wheels via one of the many cycle trails in the area.
Day 6
Get back to nature in the Forest of Dean, try canoeing, zip wiring, quad biking or one of many other adventure activities.
After all that exertion spend the afternoon sampling some delightful wines at the Three Choirs vineyard.
Head to the Dean Heritage Centre to discover the story of the Forest, in the heart of the Forest.
Day 7
Visit the beautiful market town of Tewkesbury, and enjoy the beautiful scenery where the rivers Severn and Avon meet.
Continue your journey on a boat trip to The Fleet Inn at Twyning, then return to Tewkesbury to browse the unique independent shops.
In the afternoon, pay a visit to the beautiful Tewkesbury Abbey and Out of the Hat Heritage & Visitor Centre.
